The Supreme Court allowed the appeals on sentence, holding that on the accepted findings of honesty and that culpability was limited to misjudgement rather than gross negligence or dishonesty, the offending did not warrant starting points of imprisonment; the Court of Appeal's imposition of custodial sentences was set aside and the non-custodial sentences imposed by Dobson J were restored.
