Where the payer had reasonably instructed solicitors and communicated that further correspondence should be directed to those solicitors, that constituted a 'prescribed manner' of service under s80(d) which displaced service by posting to the payer's PO box; because the reissued payment claims were not sent to the solicitors they were not validly served and the District Court summary judgment based on effective service was reversed and set aside.
