The contract (NZS3915:2000 clause 12.2.1) provided a seven working day time limit for the principal to give the notice performing the function of a payment schedule; the applicant did not comply with that contractual time limit and therefore was barred from disputing the claimed amount under the Act; there was no genuine and substantial dispute and the statutory demand stood.
