The appellant failed to prove on the balance of probabilities that the current nerve root compromise was a consequence of the covered 11 July 2004 injury; contemporaneous MRI and preferred medical evidence established multilevel degenerative disease as the cause of the nerve root compromise, so the respondent correctly declined funding for the elective surgery.
