Telford v Accident Compensation Corporation
- Citation
- [2016] NZACC 25
- Court
- District Court
The appellant failed to prove a causal nexus between the workplace event and a new physical injury; unchallenged expert medical opinion established that pre‑existing degenerative spondylosis was the substantial cause of the ongoing symptoms and a temporal connection alone was insufficient to meet the claimant's onus, therefore the reviewer's decision to decline weekly compensation and suspend treatment was correctly upheld.
