Both applications for security for costs were dismissed: the plaintiff's application against the defendant was refused because the defendant's director gave a binding personal undertaking to meet any costs award and, given proximity to trial and the undertaking, it was not just to order security; the defendant's cross-application was refused because the plaintiff demonstrated sufficient asset backing and bank support such that the threshold for believing it would be unable to pay costs was not met.
