The court approved the proposed variations because they facilitate the carrying out of the trust within the meaning of s33: the beneficiaries remain the same congregation, the charitable purpose (advancement of religion) is preserved and the substituted denominational reference is consistent with the trust's original doctrines; authorising trustees to amend administrative provisions by deed is permissible to enable efficient administration.
