The court assessed both parties’ current incomes, assets and reasonable expenses, recharacterised and reduced or disallowed unreasonable items, attributed proportions of general household costs to the child, concluded parties should equally share the child's reasonable monthly expenses, and reduced the husband's periodical payment to reflect his existing direct expenditures and his fair share, fixing maintenance at HKD 9,600 per month effective 1 October 2006.
