The judge was misinformed at sentencing that the appellant had provided no useful information when the first Customs statement conceded limited practical usefulness; had the judge been correctly informed a small mitigation would have been given. Because the information was late and of doubtful originality, only a modest reduction of six months is warranted; conviction stands and sentence is reduced from 25.5 to 25 years' imprisonment.

Although the individual terms imposed by the trial judge were appropriate and not to be interfered with standing alone, the aggregate sentence of 24 years was excessive because the trial judge failed adequately to consider sentences imposed on co-offenders in the same series; appellate court may quash and substitute individual terms to achieve a just overall sentence and reduced the effective total to 20 years by substituting 8, 4 and 4 year terms for Counts 5, 7 and 8 respectively.
