The Court held that s.4(4)(c) of the New Territories (Renewable Crown Leases) Ordinance (Cap.152) is wide enough to preserve possessory rights acquired or in the course of acquisition under the Limitation Ordinance (Cap.347) immediately before 1 July 1973; accordingly the new Crown lease deemed granted on 1 July 1973 was subject to the appellants' possessory title and the plaintiffs' claim was time‑barred under the Limitation Ordinance.
