The Court held the total effective sentence of 7 years and 9 months was not manifestly excessive given the seriousness of the offences, the appellant's prior convictions and conduct (including offending while on bail), and that successive courts had properly considered totality; therefore appellate interference was unwarranted and the sentences stand.

Possession conviction quashed because the statutory provision does not apply where the property was in a pawn shop for over a month and thus not in the appellant's immediate possession; the false address conviction was quashed because the magistrate's reliance on a single witness's uncertain memory was insufficient and the conviction was against the weight of the evidence; the resisting arrest conviction was upheld because there was sufficient evidence to support it.
