The magistrate's findings that advantages were solicited and accepted to secure renewal of PW1's contract were supported by evidence that the appellant said he could facilitate renewal and that entertainment fees were necessary; a favourable staff report was an integral part of the renewal process, and the minor discrepancies between witnesses did not undermine the credibility findings, therefore the convictions are safe and the appeal fails.
