It is unlawful to direct a sentence of imprisonment to run consecutively to a drug addiction treatment centre order under section 6A of the Drug Addiction Treatment Centres Ordinance; therefore the two 12‑month sentences for publishing objectionable articles must run concurrently with each other, and, applying the totality principle, the aggregate punishment was adjusted so those 12 months run consecutively only to the existing 4 months imprisonment, while the drug treatment order remains effective under s6A.
