The sentencing judge erred in taking into account the circumstances and impact of the underlying theft (victim loss and theft details) when sentencing under s25(1); sentencing must focus on the defendant's role in dealing with the proceeds, although the defendant's active participation, use of forged documents and international concealment justified a substantial sentence which the Court reduced to four years imprisonment.
