Because the absolute bill of sale was not registered in compliance with section 7(b) of the Bills of Sale Ordinance Cap.20 it was void against the liquidator; therefore the first claimant could not derive good title from the transferor and the second claimant, deriving title from the first, also failed; the Official Receiver's application was allowed and costs awarded to the Official Receiver.
