The court concluded the reference to HK$21.08m was an accidental slip; the manifest intention was that the amount already paid into court (HK$17.68m) was to satisfy the condition for conditional leave to defend; accordingly a corrigendum was issued replacing HK$21.08m with HK$17.68m and no order was made requiring an additional payment of HK$3.4m; the plaintiff's request to vary the judgment to bar appropriation of funds was not dealt with and must be pursued by a proper summons.
