Leave to appeal was granted on the single legal question whether a public officer being or remaining favourably disposed due to pre-office payments can satisfy the conduct element of misconduct in public office; leave was refused on other grounds because the Court was not satisfied there were reasonably arguable grounds that the identity of the ultimate offeror is an essential element of the s4(1) conspiracy, nor that admission of the uncautioned statement or other alleged errors caused substantial and grave injustice to the applicants.
