    香港特別行政區 訴 李剛奕

    Citation
    [2025] HKCFI 4364
    Court
    Court of First Instance
    Case number
    HCMA484/2024

The Court held the magistrate did not err in principle or exceed discretion: the offence and sentencing considerations apply equally to rental of a room, the fine of HK$8,000 was below the cited average and far below the statutory maximum, the appellant had pleaded guilty and admitted the facts, and the alleged procedural and evidential defects were either addressed in court, irrelevant to sentence, or inappropriate to raise on a sentencing appeal; accordingly the sentence was not manifestly excessive and is upheld.

CHAN KA KIT v. A. S. WATSON & CO., LTD

    Citation
CHAN KA KIT v. A. S. WATSON & CO., LTD
    Court
    Court of First Instance
    Case number
    HCPI554/2007

Interrogatories were allowed only insofar as they sought identification of the bank account receiving the reported auto-pay income because the updated bank statements lacked the reported income and early disclosure was necessary to obtain documents without causing trial delay; questions about other unexplained credit entries were to be left for trial; the case was removed from the Warned List pending service and filing of the interrogatories by a fixed date.
