HKSAR v. CHEUNG HON MING

- HKSAR v. CHEUNG HON MING
- Court
- Court of Appeal
- Case number
- CACC490/2006
The Court reduced the sentence for the attempted robbery to a starting point and discount appropriate to that offence (resulting in 4 years 8 months) but held that possession of a genuine loaded firearm at the time was a separate and very serious aggravating factor that had not been taken into account in that reduction; accordingly a portion of the possession sentence must run consecutively to the robbery sentence to reflect the combined gravity, resulting in an overall effective term of 11 years imprisonment (matching the original aggregate sentence).
