The court found the 10th management committee controlled day-to-day management and the IOC had knowledge and acceptance of Yee Tai's services and payments; therefore, irrespective of any statutory irregularity in appointment, Yee Tai is entitled to compensation on a quantum meruit/unjust enrichment basis for services rendered and was awarded HKD 168,177 with interest and costs to follow the event.
