Leave to appeal was refused. The court held identification was not in issue so a Turnbull direction and identification parade were unnecessary; it was permissible for the station sergeant to ask undercover officers, separately and in the presence of the arrested persons, to state what each person had done; and convictions for assaulting a police officer do not require that the defendants knew the victims were police officers—assault of a person who in fact is a police officer is sufficient.
