The Court of Appeal held that the trial court and High Court correctly found the defence produced an innocent explanation sufficient to rebut the s50(1) presumption on the balance of probabilities and that the prosecution failed to prove the elements of corruption and money‑laundering beyond reasonable doubt. Material non-production of business documents and credible defence witnesses created reasonable doubt. There were no compelling grounds to disturb the factual findings; appeal dismissed and acquittal upheld.
