Medical evidence established the appellant's later malignant disease and resulting amputation were not caused by the 1989 accident; the amputation and disease superseded the effects of the accident so the appellant's present incapacity is disease‑related and excluded by s10 of the Act; consequently the respondent's decision to deny further assistance was correct and the appeal is dismissed.
