Life imprisonment imposed. Although s104 applied, a 17-year minimum was manifestly unjust given the defendant's lesser role, uncertainty about knowledge of the knife and parity with co-defendant; starting MPI set at 15.5 years then reduced by 18 months for guilty plea and a further 18 months for genuine remorse and personal circumstances, producing an MPI of 12.5 years; concurrent sentences imposed for aggravated robbery (7 years) and assault with a weapon (18 months).
