On the balance of probabilities the appellant did not establish a causal nexus between the 11 January 2012 accident and the subsequent shoulder bursitis because (i) expert medical opinion established bursitis is typically slow onset and not plausibly caused by the described mechanism absent a direct blow or inflammatory signs and (ii) there was no contemporaneous evidence of shoulder incapacity or inflammatory bursitis; therefore cover and funding for surgery were correctly declined and suspension of weekly compensation was correct.
