Where an individual with specialist employment skills is co-opted or placed under the direction of emergency services to assist at an incident, that person is at the place 'for the purposes of his employment' within s 28(1)(a) even if not directly paid on the spot; consequently PTSD sustained in those circumstances is a work-related personal injury and covered under the Act.
