The High Court held the judge did not err in adopting a six-year global starting point because the offending involved significant premeditation and stupefying a nine-year-old, and the judge appropriately applied the totality principle by mitigating the second sentence to four-and-a-half years and making it cumulative on an existing five-and-a-half-year sentence; the overall sentence was not manifestly excessive, and the appeal was dismissed.
