On the balance of probabilities the Court preferred the CAP opinion that the appellant's shoulder condition requiring surgery was the result of a gradual/degenerative impingement process (supported by imaging, bursal thickening, Type I SLAP fraying and acromial morphology) rather than being materially caused by the 2005 lifting accident; ACC's decline of funding was therefore upheld.
