The Court of Appeal held that, having reviewed the trial judge's careful assessment of the immunities and the quality of accomplice evidence, the judge did not err generally; however the convictions based on unreliable witness combinations were unsafe in specific instances and the convictions of the 2nd and 4th appellants and the 16th defendant were quashed while the convictions of the remaining appellants were upheld.
