The Court held that independent witness evidence of the appellant deliberately driving his car at the victim supported an inference of specific intent to cause grievous bodily harm, that the recklessness findings related to separate driving acts, and that the trial judge had not so prejudged the defence as to deprive the appellant of a fair trial; accordingly leave to appeal was refused.
